Made A Surprise Appearance Over Halifax
USPA NEWS -
Canada is poised to take its airshow capabilities to new heights with the retirement of the CT-114 Tutor after the 2026 season, making way for the cutting-edge CT-157 Siskin II, a Pilatus PC-21-based turboprop designed for both training and air demonstration, and marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the team at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, who will rebuild and return to the skies in the early 2030s, stronger and more spectacular than ever.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds released the following communication;
"Today, Monday June 29th, around 1:30pm, we take to the skies from Summerside to fly over Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and PEI! Here’s where to look up: Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, Sydney( NS — refueling stop) Baddeck, NS , (site of the first controlled powered flight in Canada),Port Hawkesbury, Trenton, Truro, and Debert, NS.
And if fuel allows, we’ll add a bonus pass over Charlottetown, PEI before heading back to Summerside to wrap up the day!"
The media release went on to say;
"Please note: all flyovers are dependent on weather and fuel, and may change without notice. Follow SNBD1 on any flight tracking app or website to keep up with us in real time.
Keep your eyes on the sky and your cameras ready, see you out there!"
There was an exciting Snowbirds event in Moncton yesterday afternoon. As they celebrate their 55th anniversary season, they're also paving the way for a new era, as the CT-114 Tutor fleet makes its final flights. The Snowbirds team is bracing for a temporary hiatus, with a promising future on the horizon, as they await the arrival of the new aircraft.
